Life is a wonder-filled classroom and Experience is a profound teacher.
McTavish Business College launched me on the practical and rewarding pathway that I followed for many years. Living and working in Edmonton, the Bahamas, Montreal and Calgary were opportunities that I look back on with fondness and gratitude. Even today I continue to use the secretarial and organizational skills developed so many years ago.
In the mid-1980’s my husband and I moved to Vancouver Island where we welcomed the change of pace that small town living offered. Time truly does fly and in recent years my Heart called me back ‘home’ to Edmonton … to family and old friends. That happened in the autumn 2010.
“I have been blessed with a way of life that enabled me to work part-time and also volunteer to assist organizations that were especially meaningful to me: Hospice, Meals on Wheels, Fine Arts, Salmon Enhancement, Citizens on Patrol, Block Watch and Second Chance Animal Rescue Society. I’m grateful to the inspirational role models who taught me about compassion, empathy, awareness, the importance of being non-judgemental … and of being a good listener. They lived their humanness — and continue to live it — openly and honestly.”
